German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarships for the Pacific Islands (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu)

The DAAD is Germany's largest scholarship-awarding organisation and runs several programmes supporting academic exchange between Germany and all parts of the world. These programmes range from short-term exchanges for research or teaching purposes through to doctoral scholarships lasting several years. The scholarships offered by the DAAD are awarded to younger university graduates from all academic disciplines as well as from the fields of music and art. Support is also available for young academics and scientists, university teachers and groups completing study visits under the guidance of a university teacher. The scholarships are largely financed from public funds.
Postgraduate Courses for Professionals with Relevance to Developing Countries
Out of the large number of postgraduate courses offered by German Institutions of Higher Education, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports a carefully chosen selection of programmes which is of particular interest to junior executives form developing countries. These degree courses, which consist of one to two years of concentrated study, provide academically-trained young professionals in leading positions from developing countries with the opportunity to engage in postgraduate education and training in their particular field of profession.
